MaxLove Project has grown tremendously in the past few years and we have some incredibly exciting initiatives on the horizon that will change the nature of evidence-based health care for families facing childhood cancers, related life threatening illnesses, and all hospitalized kids. In order to achieve our goals we need to grow MLP to the next level! If you believe in our mission and are interested in supporting MLP at a higher level, beyond casual volunteering, this opportunity may be perfect for you.  Please use the form below to formally express your interest in a Board of Directors position with MLP. Board of Directors Structure + REquirements

The MaxLove Project Board of Directors is structured in a fairly unique manner. In order to accommodate talented and committed individuals from across the country we create personalized positions for each of our Directors. Upon successful completion of the application and recruitment process, MLP Board members are offered a tailored yearly contribution agreement that outlines their unique contribution pledge to the organization for the year. Unique contributions may come in the form of hosting one fundraiser event in the year, offering services (legal, graphic design, marketing, etc.), managing a program, soliciting corporate support, or chairing an events committee. In addition to fulfilling that unique contribution pledge, Board of Directors members are asked to:

  • Make a yearly financial contribution (give/get) of at least $1500

  • Attend the yearly Board of Directors retreat every August (beginning August 2020), potentially presenting on their unique contribution

  • Read and retain the monthly Board of Directors newsletter, responding as requested

  • Learn about MLP by visiting our website and reading our materials

  • Amplify our voice by commenting on our social media posts (Instagram and/or Facebook)

  • Participate in the Board of Directors WhatsApp Chat Group

  • Volunteering and being present at MLP events, as available

  • (Fall Fundraiser Support) Fully supporting our Farm to Fork Dinner (attending, supporting donation requests and sponsorship solicitations, selling tables)

  • (Spring Fundraiser Support) Fully supporting our yearly Thrive Cup golf tournament (attending, supporting sponsorship solicitations, selling foursomes)

  • Executive Board Members ONLY: attend in-person monthly meetings and participate in core committee functions

Prior to Application

We’re seeking candidates who take initiative and are proactive, responsive, tech savvy, positive, and resourceful. Candidates must also have a passion for helping families facing childhood cancers and for advancing health and wellness in our medical system. Our organization is pretty complex and innovative, so it’s not immediately easy to comprehend the scope of what we do and where we’re headed. That said, prior to making an application, we ask that candidates fulfill the following requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer experience with MLP, prior to applying

  • Must successfully participate in our MLP Ambassador Orientation class linked HERE

  • Must have a contribution proposal in mind to propose on the application

  • Must review our MLP talking points and information, developing an “elevator pitch” as to why MaxLove Project is important to you, including one statistic
