Statistics are not destiny

Founded in 2011, MaxLove Project is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to increase quality of life and reduce health risks for families surviving childhood cancer and related rare diseases. We believe that we can change the odds when families are empowered to be active partners in their child’s healing.

Our Cause

An integrative approach

We support childhood cancer families with evidence-based and expert-backed integrative healthcare with a focus on culinary medicine, whole-body health, mental wellness tools, therapeutic social support, and expert-designed educational resources. We are a community of dedicated change-makers who believe in the power of high quality integrative health care for all children.

Our Approach

We invest in hope

Today, over 80% of all children diagnosed with some cancers survive beyond 5 years. While this is great news for many, the fight for most is never over. Researchers now know that the treatments that save lives also increase later risks for serious, life-threatening illnesses. These health risks are lifelong, increase with age, and can result in early death. This is why we’re kickstarting our own wellness revolution, one specifically for families facing childhood cancer, related rare diseases, and the lifelong late effects of life-saving treatments.

Our BE SUPER Action Plan

Our programs and resources support families in key areas of survivorship health. Each program focuses on the key evidence-based actions for lifelong healthy survivorship. It’s our goal to ensure that every family affected by childhood cancer has access to the therapeutic resources — from optimal nutrition and sleep to vigorous physical activity and stress management — that have been shown to powerfully impact quality of life and long-term health.

What we do

MaxLove Project equips families to thrive within the pediatric healthcare system of today — where the standard of care for most life-limiting illnesses does not include essential integrative therapies — as we work to change the system of tomorrow. We do this through our support of pioneering cancer research, innovative culinary medicine programs, family-centered initiatives, easy-to-understand health education, and support for complementary and preventive therapies in healthcare settings. Each of these initiatives aims to improve quality of life and reduce health risks for hospitalized kids, childhood cancer patients, survivors, and their families.

Our Programs

We focus on all the things families can do outside the hospital to achieve maximum quality of life for children fighting cancer. We do this through tailored cooking classes; whole-family wellness resources and therapies; targeted peer social support; and professionally designed, facilitated, and researched health and wellness programs.
